Description

It was time for the night patrol the Hyperforce always did and this time they had some extra help.

While the rest of the team already had assigned their areas, Antauri suggested Gibson to take Galax with him and investigated an area to forest of Shuggazoom, a nearby meadow where some unusual activity had been reported.

Without losing time, Gibson and Galax took the Fist Rocket 4 so they could arrive in no time. Gibson was almost sure nothing was there since he had been there a lot of times before.

'Do you you think we'll find something in that meadow, Gibson? I actually want we do, it would be nice to have some to tell Netra once I'm back.' Galax said while swaying her tail some and trying to fit a spot inside the cockpit of the Fist Rocket.

'I'm afraid to dissapoint you, Galax but I've been there before I don't think we'll find something, it's like any other patrolling we have done before' Gibson responded as he keep his eyes on the radar, telling him where a place to land could be found.

'It doesn't have to be anything big, just something that give us some work.' The purple female monkey said as she tilted her head a bit.

Gibson let a slight sigh escaped from his lips. 'Once we'll arrive and see the place we'll find out if there is something we can do, don't worry'. He said as he prepared to land.

Both monkeys got off of the Rocket Fist, Galax going first. They started to walk near of a hill that was close of the meadow; there were some bushes near of it as well as a road with some rocks on it. Everything was normal as Gibson expected until suddenly, some noises could be hear from behind the bushes.

'Did you hear that Gibson?' Galax said quickly as turning around to check on Gibson.

'I'd like to say that I didn't but I'm afraid, I did.' Gibson said as he turned around and tried to figure out from where the noises were coming from.

'I think they're coming from behind of the bushes and they are getting closer; it's better we get ready.' She said as she morphed one of her hands into a her Tribal Blade and her ribbons into Spiked Bows.

'But there isn't supposed to be anything here, what could they be?' Gibson barely responded as he morphed his hands into his drills, he wasn't sure what's going on but he wanted to be ready anyway.

'I think we'll find out soon, they seem to be quite of them, Gibson." Galax said as some glowing red eyes could be seen from the bushes and more noises could be heard from afar.

CC Entry = Collab Contest Entry.

Edit: Fixe a couple of things that =evil-within-u pointed me out, like the shadows below them.

IT'S FINALLY DONE AND I'M SO PROUD OF THIS DRAWING! :shakefist:

As you can see, I didn't draw this but I did color it and even if took me a while to do it, I'm very happy with the outcome since it's my first Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go! artwork in my galley and my collab contest entry for *NightOttsel's contest.

When I knew she was gonna allow collab works as your contest entry I immediately thought of doing one since my skills to draw are almost zero these days but my coloring isn't that bad. xD

And I think someone must like me a lot 'cause I manage to convince the amazing =evil-within-u to be my collab partner and also now my Robot Monkey sketch partner, so expect more drawings like these. ;D

As soon as she sent me the lineart I knew I had to do something very special for this, try things I hadn't tried so far because this had to be awesome and I think it came up well~

Hope I haven't killed it with my coloring, Anastasia. xD Thank you so much for doing this for me, it means a lot. ;.; <3

About the drawing? The idea of this drawing was inspired by Victory's Song by Ensiferum [link] and I thought it could fit to the theme of the contest: Galax and Gibson are getting ready to defend themselves of a new threat they just found. Could they survive even if they outnumbered? Galax looks pretty confident about it.

I'm very content how the coloring of both of them came out, even if it's the first time I color this kind of drawings, it doesn't look that bad, right? xD Same goes for the background, I need advices about both of them so, please, it would be awesome if you could give me some feedback about my coloring and background.

I'd love to thank to my lovely sis ~JadeVelcro to help with the shading and some background details, don't forget to check her stuff.

Other than that, I hope I've gotten Galax's personality well for both the drawing and the story I decided to include as an introduction for this picture. It has been a while since I wrote something. ><;

If not, you're free to tell me, Shelly bum. Hope you like it anwyay. xD <3

Anyway, enjoy and comment!

Well you wanted me to comment and found you are also looking for some advice as well, so hey why not? I'm only offering to help you improve.

First things first, I love the coloring of the monkeys, you did a fine job. The softness of the picture is very nice. I do get the feeling they are in a dark environment as the shadows play off their figures well.
I would recommend adding maybe a few trees to emphasize that they are in a forest because I can't exactly tell where they are. Also add a few more eyes but in different places and change their sizes to show our heroes are surrounded. The shadows below them are a bit too perfectly round, but that's okay, right now I'd suggest lightening the heaviness of the shadow because they aren't under a very strong light source. I've found that shadows aren't super strong all hours of the day and the farther an object is from its shadow the more fuzzy it is. (A good example is holding shadow puppets to a light. The farther away it is the lighter and fuzzier the shadow on the wall.) It would be really dark just under their feet and lighter the rest of the way out. Which brings me to the light source. Not sure where that is or if there should be one since a dark forest usually implies little to no light. But if you bathed them entirely in shadow they'd look flat. So I guess I'm saying they're a little too bright for their environment but after I'd darken them I'd add some sort of dark highlight just to give it that 3D emphasis on the figure. Also when shading or highlighting if you give it a sharp edge it says they are under a strong light, but soften it and it describes the light source as being farther away. (think I'm giving you my realistic coloring crit. XD whoops)

Cartoons are different though, I understand the shadows and highlights are sometimes sharp just because it's the style. I didn't think to consider you were keeping to that method of coloring. x) But it still helps anyway. If that's what you're originally going for then just identify one light source and maybe have a nice soft gradation of darkness to lighter shadows to go along with the style of this picture.

Hope I haven't overwhelmed you, I still think you did a fine job for this.
